Intoduction

Hello everyone,

I will be blogging here about my experiences in playing Battlefield 3 competitively, giving advice to help you become a better player, and maybe some Battlefield news. Note this is not a guide for complete beginners, it is aimed more towards intermediate players (middle of the scoreboard).

In this first post I will give my opinions on the best weapons for each class, most of which I have unlocked, being colonel service star 2.

Assault

The assault class has a variety of good weapons. My base assault rifle is the M16A3 at the moment, because it's extremely versatile, and kills very quickly, you can also go with the M16A4, they have extremely similar stats, it's just a matter of preference of burst/auto fire modes. The AEK-971 is also a great assault rifle, it's usually my choice for close to close-medium ranges, though it lacks a little kick at long ranges. The M416 is a good longer range assault rifle, though the new SCAR-L is by far the best at long ranges, it's like a sniper-counter, but is useless at close range.

Engineer

The M4A1 in my opinion the best engineer weapon. It's very similar to the M16A3 for assault, the SCAR-H is better at longer ranges much like the SCAR-L in assault, but less powerful. I also love the G36C, it's also very versatile like the M4A1, but geared slightly towards close ranges.

Support

The support class I mainly only use when trying to take out tanks or mobile AA vehicles, I sneak up on them with C4, and all I ever use is the M27 IAR, it seems to be the only effective weapon for me, though the PKP Pencheg seems to be the best for finding a supporting position and laying down suppressing fire.

Recon

With the recon class, I find the bolt action snipers always do a far better job than any semi-automatic sniper, you should try to practice getting better aiming for the head rather than just use a semi-auto sniper. As for which is the best; I use the M98B at ranges over 400 because of it's amazing bullet velocity, and the M40A5 at ranges under 400, because it's a bit faster.

That's all for now, but I hope I help some people with this guide. I'll be posting my experiences and more stuff like this, feel free to ask questions and give me some feedback in the comments. Happy Battlefielding.
